Shiv Textiles Eireann Blanket
The Eireann Blanket whispers its style credentials with a monochrome palette which highlights heritage weaving techniques.
Woven in Brighton from deadstock lambswool and mohair.
A large twill stripe on the Eireann Blanket is broken by a checkerboard effect made up from 16-shaft dobby patterns, while a felted effect and accent of unspun Japanese silk helps make it as soft as it can be.
All throws are woven in Brighton from deadstock lambswool.

The cushion’s inners are made to order by a family-run business just outside of London. Any deadstock which is collected and not used is also donated to the textiles department at the University of Brighton. Most scraps are used for smaller projects, such as coasters and other accessories. Collections of deadstock are small, and often upcycled materials from British mills and dye factories. These materials are of a mixture of natural fibres which are Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS) and Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified. This means the materials used are biodegradable, made from at least 70% organic fibres, ethically and socially fair, and sourced from responsible and well-managed places.
Shiv Textiles offers frequent workshops in Brighton, where the public can learn the art of weaving. They also offer university students flexible work placements, where they can develop the relevant skills in an industry setting.
