Chalk Wovens works with local mills and freelancers in the UK, who they visit regularly to ensure the quality of production. This benefits their local economy, since their entire process is so localised. They also work to provide internships for students in the UK, handing down their knowledge and expertise within the industry. Within their mills and their entire process, Chalk Wovens uses no plastic, recycling all excess waste back into the process as filling.
They use 100% pure merino lambswool for all of their products, sourced from a business based in a small town in Yorkshire. This wool is certified by Woolmark and The Campaign For Wool, which, through rigorous testing, ensures that the wool is of the highest quality, durable, lightfast, colourfast, and laundry-safe. The lambswool is also obtained from cruelty-free suppliers, using non-mulesed sources. Therefore, the lambswool is 100% natural, biodegradable, has low toxicity rates, and is easy to care for. This makes their products ideal for those with allergies, since it is breathable and hypoallergenic.
